Ogliastra is an ideal base for exploring beaches and coves such as the Rocce Rosse of Arbatax, Lido di Orrì, Su Birboni, as well as those along the Baunei coast including Cala Goloritzè, Cala Mariolu and Cala Sisine, reachable by sea or hiking trails.

Mountains

Gorropu Canyon offers a wilder and more intense landscape, with very high limestone walls and a trekking route that is accessible but best tackled with suitable shoes, together with other mountain attractions such as the Tacchi d’Ogliastra, Supramonte and the Pardu Valley.

Scenery and panoramic roads

Ogliastra is also easy to explore by car, motorbike or bicycle, along panoramic roads between Bari Sardo, Baunei and Urzulei.

Yes. The basic route is accessible with good trekking shoes. It does not require technical equipment, but it is advisable to start early in the morning and bring plenty of water. The excursion takes about 3 to 4 hours.
